Food in School
We promote healthy eating in school, especially when it comes to snacks.
Children are asked not to bring any snacks in to school as they are provided with a piece of fruit each at every morning break.
Children are encouraged to bring a bottle of water to school every day. Please label the bottle with your child's name and ONLY FILL WITH WATER - juices and fizzy drinks are not permitted in school.
Lunchtime
All children have a school dinner cooked by our kitchen staff. All children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are provided with a free school meal.
We aim to provide home cooked, tasty food which has been bought from local suppliers where possible. The most important factor is to ensure the food is of good quality, seasonal and that we consider animal welfare. We have taken into account the principles of healthy eating when creating a varied and well balanced menu. We have a salad bar available every day. Our milk is provided from a dairy in Stafford and out fruit and salad from a supplier in Etwall. There is a hot meat option and a hot vegetarian option available daily. We also have a sandwich option available daily.
School dinners are now available for our nursery children at a cost of £2.50 per day. This must be paid via Parentpay before 8.30am.
